Boric acid, white powdery crystals or triclinic axial scaly lustrous crystals, with a slippery feel and no odour. Soluble in water, alcohol, glycerol, ether and essential oil, aqueous solution is weakly acidic. It is used in large quantities in the glass (optical glass, acid-resistant glass, heat-resistant glass, glass fibre for insulating materials) industry, which can improve the heat-resistant and transparent properties of glass products, improve mechanical strength and shorten the melting time.
