Uses:
1. It is used in the production of paper and cellulose pulp; it is used in the production of soap, synthetic detergent, synthetic fatty acid and the refining of animal and vegetable oils and fats.
2. Used in textile printing and dyeing industry as desizing agent, cooking agent and mercerising agent for cotton fabric.
3.Chemical industry for the production of borax, sodium cyanide, formic acid, oxalic acid, phenol and so on. Petroleum industry for refining petroleum products, and used in oilfield drilling mud.
4. It is also used in the production of alumina, surface treatment of metallic zinc and metallic copper, as well as in glass, enamel, tanning, pharmaceuticals, dyes and pesticides.
5.Food grade products are used as acid neutraliser in the food industry, as peeling agent for citrus and peaches, and as detergent for empty bottles, cans and other containers, as well as decolourant and deodorant.
6. Widely used basic analytical reagent. Preparation of standard bases for analysis. Absorbent of small amounts of carbon dioxide and water. Neutralisation of acids. Sodium salt manufacture. Widely used in papermaking, chemical industry, printing and dyeing, medicine, metallurgy (aluminium refining), chemical fibre, electroplating, water treatment, exhaust gas treatment, etc..
7. Used as neutralising agent, match masking agent, precipitating agent, precipitation masking agent, colour developer for determination of ketosterol by thin layer analysis. Used for sodium salt preparation and saponification agent. Used in the manufacture of various sodium salts, soap, pulp, finishing cotton fabrics, silk, viscose fibres, regeneration of rubber products, metal cleaning, electroplating, bleaching and so on.
8. In cosmetics creams, this product and stearic acid and other saponification emulsifier, used in the manufacture of snow cream, shampoo and so on.
